Eco-Friendly Dentist – Green Dentistry

by Dr Joe@Toronto Dentist in Etobicoke · 13 comments

Never heard of Eco-Friendly Dentistry? That’s OK, neither had I until a few months back. Here’s Wikipedia’s take on it.

Eco-Friendly Dentistry - Respecting Our Community

I wrote an article in Hubpages on Eco-Friendly Dentistry . The article is about “Practicing Green” in an environmentally-friendly way.

This is a fairly new concept, pioneered by Dr. Ali Farahani . Our team has followed his lead in implementing many eco-friendly processes within our practice…

We’ve come a long ways in a short time!

Here’s the page on our site demonstrating some of our eco-friendly initiatives.

I would love your comments on this.

Stay healthy and keep smiling!

Thanks for your comments Jim. I think eco-friendly is essential to sustainable business and life. I’m amazed even by how much cardboard we recycle alone.

Being kind to the environment, and saving the planet for ourselves and our future is the greatest initiative a business can take. Way to go! Sometimes as outsiders, we don’t realize the steps that a dental office can take towards being “green” – so this is great information to see! Thanks.

Thanks Roxy. Being responsible always takes a little more effort and sometimes a little more expense, but it’s well worth it.

Dr. Bulger,
Does this eco-friendliness perhaps include the incorporation of new dental filling materials (bile acid) in place of older composite/amalgam fillings which are said to release environmental toxins into the body? I’m excited to see which dentists are utilizing this new technology.

Regarding eco-friendly dentistry, does your practice use web apps to decrease paper usage and admin time? I’ve heard really great things about how using web applications can save time and money.

Dental health is imperative, but environmental awareness and care is equally as important. It’s actually refreshing to know that dentist have joined the campaign of going green, since there are a lot of ways that they could do this. One of which is when they hire someone for carpet cleaning.
